I felt I was the happiest person ever to work as a hairdresser. I had to work harder, and move faster to fit more people in my book to be able to make a living. Every time I worked hard at the salon I felt physically tired. Working at the salon took me away from my family and I couldn’t do much with my kids because I was either too tired ,or making it too late to my house.

I thought I should look into something in the medical field, because I like science I thought I would do well. And I want to help people in a different way other than helping them to look at their best look. I stared to do some research about the health care programs. The only program caught my eyes it was the OTA program, because it reminded me of what happened to my aunt after she had a stroke, and became half paralyzed. I want to help patients with the same condition as my aunt. For this reason I want to become an occupational therapist assistant.

That’s the reason why I choose south university, because South University is the closest school to my house and my job, and the only school offers the OTA program near where it live, and also one of my friends recommended

Occupational Therapy has a set of broad ideas; since not one person is exactly the same as another person, as an Occupational Therapist, I have to be open to new ideas and curious about how things function. It is important for me to broaden my mind and do a wide range of activities while taking lots of different classes so that I can stretch my mind and keep learning things that may someday help me with a patient.
