SCIENTIFIC REPORT PROFORMA YEAR 8 Task 1 2018

Student name: Jacob Teacher: Miss Bianchi Class: 8.5

Due: Tuesday 27th March 2018

TITLE: Bouncing Balls

BACKGROUND RESEARCH: Physics: is the main part of science involved with the character and properties of matter and energy. Matter of physics includes: mechanics, heat, light-weight and alternative radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and also the structure of atoms.

Physics has many things that help us or things we use and we don't realise they include physics some of them are: Airbags in Cars, Bullets from Guns and Ultrasounds and X-rays.

This experiment is an example of Newton’s Third Law of Motion: Action/Reaction.

The experiment I will be conducting is which type of

The experiment tested the hypothesis but it was wrong and the soccer ball bounced the highest. It could have been improved if the PSI of each ball was the same.
RELIABILITY
Yes, I completed 3 trials for each one.
How well did the results for each trial compare to all trials for the specific independent variable.
An error was that my handball hit a crack and flung into a different direction. I moved to a different area so it didn't happen again.
ACCURACY
I did use the appropriate tool to measure my results I used a tape measure which is very accurate.
An error that was made with measuring because of the Equipment was that the ball are round which made it hard to find something flat to measure, if it was flat it would be even more accurate.

CONCLUSION:
My hypothesis was wrong because out of the three balls tested the soccer ball bounced the highest. My results were very surprising as i found that the Soccer bounced the highest and the basketball bounced the lowest. Im my mind i always thought that basketball would bounce the lowest and I was right but I was wrong about the handball as it came

The objective of this lab was to figure out how to determine the range from a given set of velocity and height from the ball. The height of the ball when it leaves the horizontal projectile is at 93.5cm or .935m. The velocity of the ball was .0674 seconds in the range of .1 meter. Creating a total velocity of 1.484m/s.…

An experiment was performed on two dolphins one was 13 years old male Bottlenose dolphin and other was 17 years old male bottle nose dolphin. This experiment was performed to see if there is any ability in dolphin to use the mirror to inspect any marked part of the body and to prove whether they have self- recognition ability in them or not.…

Even though that worked, there were still some flaws. Each time a golf ball was launched, the rubber bands moved about a millimeter each time. Luckily they didn’t move to far each time so I just moved them to where they were supposed to be. If there was something that I would do differently if I did the experiment again, I would choose different projectiles and only one angle to launch them from each time. All in all, the experiment worked and the needed data was collected from…

Hitching a Ride on a Light Beam Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences, undergirding astronomy, chemistry, geology, biology, and—absent some paradigm-shattering revelation—human thought and action. Its analytical methods and machines have plumbed the unknown and the inaccessible, from the submicroscopic confines of the atomic nucleus to the billowing expanse of the observable universe. Physics has superseded our biochemically mediated perceptions of the world, replacing qualitative impressions with highly precise quantitative models: We can’t dive into the sun to see what’s going on, yet we can accomplish as much with a physics-derived computer simulation. Physics has burgeoned since the early 1600s, when Galileo asserted that to…

Chemistry As Carl Sagan once said, “Chlorine is a deadly poison gas employed on European battlefields in World War I. Sodium is a corrosive metal which burns upon contact with water. Together, they make a placid and non-poisonous substance, table salt. Why each of these substances has the properties it does is a subject called chemistry.” Chemistry involves many things, from atoms to elements and their functions.…

: In total, 98 errors occurred in this experiment. An error occurred when the line drawn went over a bound of the maze. The first maze without the mirror had 1 error and took 18 seconds to complete. Using the mirror, the second maze had 22 errors and took 75 seconds to complete, the third maze had 22 errors and took 88 seconds to complete, the fourth maze had 18 errors and took 94 seconds to complete, the fifth maze had 6 errors and took 56 seconds to complete, the sixth maze had 11 errors and took 65 seconds to complete, the seventh maze had 7 errors and took 45 seconds to complete, and finally, the eighth maze had 11 errors and took 35 seconds to complete.…

The Importance of Sacred Mathematics in the Advance of Science Section 1: Introduction Within this paper, I will argue that the viewpoint that divinity and mathematics were interrelated was a common and important motivator in the advancement of the sciences. In the modern age, a common view is that science and religion are opposites and that belief in one means refutation of the other to some degree. However, we can look back through history and see that the exact opposite is commonly true. Religion and science were hand in hand from the days of Pythagoras and as recent as Kepler.…

When looking at something that is very large, such as the universe, a militaristic entity, or a massive political conflict, it can be hard to make any sense out of the sheer multitude of sensory experiences. Looking at something small, in contrast, is simple and easy to understand. Therefore, a useful way in understanding the whole would be to look at individual parts, and eventually the sum of the parts will lead to a conception of the entire entity. Richard Feynman’s The Character of Physical Law utilizes this very theory to promote an understanding of fundamental physical law in the hopes elevating the beauty that people see in the world. Feynman utilizes the example of mathematics and the parts of the whole in order to emphasize the need…

If the loft angle is decreased from 56 degrees to 48 degrees then the distance the golf ball travels will increase. The idea of the project is to determine whether a higher lofted golf club or a lower lofted golf club(these types of golf clubs are irons) causes the ball to travel a greater distance. Many people do not know the significance of the loft on a golf club. When golfing one of the most important things to know is the loft angles on golf clubs which controls the height and the length the ball travels.…
