John Quincy Adams, 6th president of the United States, noted “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” According to this quote, a leader is someone who can bring out the hidden potential of other individuals. In both, in and out of school, I have demonstrated leadership ability. In school, I accomplished several of tasks in Science National Honor Society. In out of school, I led our group in the Virginia Boys State. Fulfilling the responsibilities as an officer is not an easy task. This logic also applies to my experience as the Treasurer in Science National Honor Society, SNHS. This school year, I had the three major tasks additional to the basic responsibilities as the Treasurer; fundraising for scholarship, organizing the meeting, and taking charge of Gardening project. With the spirit of excitement, a place is half chaos and half anarchy. In the Boys State, educational programs of government instruction for high school students, we were able to get close real fast, but it was definitely somewhat chaos and anarchy without an order or a leader, our group needed a set of rules and a leader to follow. So, I decided to run for city councilmen because this was only the job that can legislates ordinances and helps Mayor to maintain proper conduct. Once I became the city councilmen, I introduced the ordinances that reschedule for extra sleeping-time and prohibition of vulgar or violence words in a public area. Soon others came up to me to explain their ideas for ordinances like three strikes out penalty system and penalty for marching out of a formation. What I did in the Boys State was what every city councilmen could have done, but what made me special that even got me the Best Citizen award was my ability to inspire others to do more and become more than a just city
