Science Fiction In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury

Science fiction for children is a form of fantasy literature that takes real science and extrapolates the science to form fantasy stories. Science fiction teaches students how real science ideas work but tweaks it so that it does not become real. Back when society carried boom boxes and radios to listen to music around the house on the way to the beach, when nobody could peacefully listen to music because they had headphones that weighed a lot. A writer by the name of Ray Bradbury introduced a little alternative to the headphones. Bradbury introduced what society knows as earbuds. Of course this does not follow the definition of what science fiction is because it is mentioned that it is tweaked to not be real. In Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451 the earbud was described but never actually given the name until it was actually invented and popularly used throughout the world. The plot is important because there is a fine line that distinguishes science fiction from fantasy. For a good science fiction plot you need to have some advancement in a scientific discovery. Looking back at the two examples provided earlier we can definitely see the scientific advancement especially with Star Wars. With Star Wars there is space travel, laser guns/swords, and there is alien species. The plot for 2001: A Space Odyssey has long distance space travel and an artificial intelligence. Both of the films had to be written and later depicted by a director, then lastly put onto film. The person who wrote the beginnings of the film had to be educated enough to write these stories.
