Science Fair Project Research Paper

Science fair projects are right up my alley. I have been participating in science fairs since I was nine years old. My dad is a biology/chemistry major, and his knowledge in science has been extremely helpful over the years in my school career. With his guidance, I am able to come up with thousands of ideas to experiment for my projects.
Experimenting and going through trials with my science projects have always been a blast. My first year completing a science project, I did a "cloud in a bottle." Going through trials to create a cloud in a bottle were tricky, but in the end it all worked out and I received an A. I sometimes get frustrated if I don't do an experiment right or it won't work, but just like my English teacher, Mrs. Miller, said, "You have to fail to succeed." All my projects have

My dad is an expert when it comes to using power tools. Learning how to hammer in nails, use power tools, and paint are all good life skills to have. Creating this doghouse had also made me closer to my dad. This project took a couple of months to complete and I loved spending all the time I had with him. For a hypothesis, we were going to see if the whole dog house could withstand two-hundred pounds on top of it. For the three trials, I had my dad stand on different spots on the roof. As I predicted, the doghouse withstood each trial. In the end, I didn't get to compete in the science fair competition, but spending time with my dad and learning life skills made up for it. In conclusion, it is not all about the first place, second place, and third place. Learning new things, experimenting, and having fun is what it's all about. If it weren't for my dad and his knowledge in science, I wouldn't have been able to come up with creative ideas for my science fair projects. I'm can't wait to pick up my next rubric and starting experimenting this

The topic of this science fair project was, seeing what stain removers did, and did not work on various stains. People all over the world spill things on their clothing, and can’t get the stain out. This experiment will help people find the correct stain remover, that is efficient and safe. The hypothesis for this experiment was that enzyme stain removers would work better than, non-biological stain removers, and biological stain removers. The approach to investigating this problem was to take one shirt and spread the stain on four different areas of it.…

In designing our science fair project, many concepts and variables are to be considered. Our science fair project is experimenting on how rust forms so research and prior knowledge is required before we actually conduct the experiment. Having previous information on the topic allows us to be able to alter the variables accurately when we actually administer the procedure. For our project, we are exploring the idea of the formation of rust and how the lack of or extra variables could affect the chemical corrosion.…

My 495 Capstone project has certainly been a journey, one I feel started last year with TED 560: Science Methods. It was there I learned to teach students to think critically, ask questions about the world around them, and explore scientific concepts in the middle school classroom. This semester I was able to apply the knowledge I learned during the Fall semester in my own experimental inquiry project. I was challenged to engage in the thought patterns I wish my future students to adapt and experienced first hand the obstacles and joys of truly being a scientist. Ready, Set, Science states, “When students understand the nature and development of scientific knowledge, they know that science entails searching for core explanations and the connections between them.…

For my science fair project I investigated how a solar oven works and how it can help others that don't have an oven. But I also investigated how the light of the sun affected it and how the sun is attracted to the black construction paper and aluminum, and their simulates. Another thing that I had to investigate was how the light went through the glass or plastic and which types of glass or plastic was better. I investigated these things because to know how the project will be successful and so it will melt or cook better the object better. I also investigated how the temperature will or how it will affect it.…

The enduring questions that were presented to us at the beginning of the year in the course syllabus served as the “framework” for the course. We can gain knowledge to understand systems by studying the ways that bonds are formed and the different parts of the atom. This can be understood by using the models in lab #2 to connect how the system works together to form one functional bond, cell, tissue, organ, or organism. Using the knowledge that we have gained, we can predict what will happen in future events by studying the evidence of atoms and atoms, as well as looking into patterns that chemistry experiments might portray. Experiment 3 was a great example of where we had to use stoichiometry to see the number of reactants that would be created in a specific reaction.…

A science conception that I would make into a fun activity is that all metals are attracted to magnets. I would have my scientists work in groups and each group would have different pieces of metals. The students would use a chart to fill in which metals were attracted to the magnet and which were not. I would then ask the students to write a story together about the different metal pieces, making each piece of metal a different character. In the story the students must implement which metals did not attract to the magnets.…
