Science fair experiments: a common project assigned to middle school students, allowing them to apply the scientific method to answer a specific question. In 8th grade, we were told to get into groups and choose a topic to research. I decided to analyze computer operating systems and determine which version performed faster; my group members approved of the idea. One of my partners, Christian, had multiple laptops that he had planned to use as test subjects for the experiments, however I approached the experiment from a software standpoint. I believed by using virtualization on one machine, we could achieve more reliable results. Post experiment, my initial thoughts were confirmed.
