My weighted GPA 4.57 and unweighted GPA is 3.82. I aspire to showcase my interest in biomedical engineering and leadership at a top tier institution such as Texas A&M University after graduating high school in spring 2016. In the future, I hope to be a successful cardiologist that will impact the medical field with my brilliance and creativity. If you can 't communicate well, you won 't able to be successful in any environment in this world. Communicating with our veterans has helped me to understand to be grateful, humble and appreciative. In VEX, we build robots to compete in challenges every month. Without each team members input, the group would essentially fall apart. As one of the team members, I am responsible for keeping the group together and managing our time wisely. Having this responsibility has been able to teach me the importance of prioritizing and completing tasks on time, which will be important in the future. Teams have to work together, compromise and come to a solid conclusion on their decision. During my experience working with Dr. William E. Cohn at ST. Luke’s Episcopal hospital, he has taught me responsibility and given me the resources to do effective research. When I was meeting with him every day for 3-4 weeks, the first thing he told me was to always be come prepared beforehand. These hands on type of activities and group assignments give me an exact representation of what working in a STEM field would be like. By participating in SECME, I have developed a clear understanding of what I strive to be in life. I also have an understanding of how I want to make an impact in the STEM field in the future. Analyzing real world problems, working with teams and coming up with conclusions have stimulated my mind. Doing research has to be the most stimulating for me because I love researching new ideas and designing my own product with a group. Most importantly, team work is the biggest factor in doing big projects such as building water bottle rockets and ISTF because they require a lot of effort. I value my participation in ISTF because I am proud of what my team and I accomplished. Staying long nights after school has helped us to reach better communication with each other and our technical advisor. Being with our technical advisor for hours upon hours helped me to realize the importance of networking and keeping those good relationships for the future. My analytical skills have also improved throughout the course of SECME as well, which I never would have thought would happen. I never could understand why it was so challenging for me to analyze topics. When I started

For most people, school is about staying on top of your class, making perfect grades, and then moving on to the next thing, with little thought of the past or future. Now I’m not here to criticize others and their methods, but to me, that all sounds like a big waste of time. Good grades are great and all, but if that’s the extent of school, then I’d rather just learn everything on my own time. I’m in it for the knowledge learned and the experiences gained; the kinds of things that will help you to react in the best way to what life has to throw at you. The best way I can see to gain this kind of practical experience and knowledge is to surround myself with other people with the same idea as me, much like the Engineering Honors program will…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…
