School Vs. Year-Round School

Imagine that it was beautiful weather outside during summer vacation. The winds are breezing, and the sun is shining, but you are sitting a classroom, educating yourself. *Isn’t that an amazing way to spend your summer. Although that doesn’t sound like the most fascinating way to spend your summer break, it has been stated that students are ought to do better if the school that they attend has more education days and more time in school and year-round school have that type of school structure. Although multiple students would prefer having the summer break, districts and education systems say that year-round schools are the way to go. However, this is not the case because academies and daycares are available throughout the year. For instance having year-round schools will be more convenient for parents. According to Source A, it states, “The tradition began at a time when many schools were unbearably hot during the summer, and when most moms did not work outside of the home. Now we have air conditioning, and most moms are at work all day. For most kids particularly those whose parents cannot afford to send them to camp or other programs-summer days are often spent indoors, playing video games and watching TV.” Based upon this evidence, I can conclude that summer vacation isn’t very important because most summer days are spent doing unfruitful activities like playing video games and sitting in front of the TV. Now jumping to source B, it states, “Children from disadvantaged families who may be at risk during long summer breaks with unscheduled time on their hands benefit from shorter breaks.” This clearly shows to us that it is difficult for parents to keep their children somewhere during the long summer break. According to Source C, it states, “The order was the same for enrollment, except that Georgia had more students than Texas”.
