Imagine this, you are walking with your boyfriend and a couple of your friends in the hall way. It seems like any other day at school, until you start hearing screaming and people running past you. Children who play or watch violent video games/movies are more likely to have hostile urges and aggressive behavior according to www.nytimes.com. A lot of mass shootings or violent attacks tie back to the person(s) playing violent video games or being overly exposed to violent movies. I have noticed in my own school that students that are playing violent video games often talk more about violent behaviors and dangerous things such as guns and knives. Students that start school violence may not always play violent video games but those who do are more often to start violence than those who don’t.
Lastly, school violence in America has risen because of bullying. More than half of the students that cause school violence or are involved in mass shootings feel bullied or rejected by their peers according to www.howtolearn.com. Bullying is common in almost all schools, and this is often the cause of most fights. The person being bullied will stand up to their attacker and that will cause a confrontation. Bullying may be one of the biggest causes of school violence rising in America.
In conclusion, school violence in America is a very serious problem and is steadily rising. Three of the biggest causes of this is the rise of mental illnesses, violent video games/movies, and bullying. This problem has been around for a long time and I don’t think it will go away anytime
