School-Based Bullying Report

For my program project I wanted to really talk about school violence and bullying in grade levels from K-12 and the different demographics and treatments there are for these types of problems. The reason I decided to do school violence and bullying is because it always been such a common thing in culture and not everyone knows the answers to these problems. And with this I am going over all forms of school violence and bullying. From physical, verbal, indirect and also cyber bullying. One out of every four about 22% of students report being bullied during the school year (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015). Also it’s said that school-based bullying prevention programs decrease bullying by up to 25% (McCallion and Feder, 2013). Then one of the most interesting facts was that the reason that most people are bullied are often by students were first by looks about 55%, then by bodily image which is about 37% and then last is race which is about 16% (Davis and Nixon, 2010). It’s quite surprising the actual numbers are so high with people bulling others off just looks. Another thing that is quite interesting to see is the percentage difference between bodily image and race; it’s a 21% difference which is noticeable. The crazy thing about bullying is that it can happen to anyone, bullying of color, being part of LGBTQ, weight based, and even area based bullying is a thing, which is being bullied or pick on from being from a different area then others. K-12 is not the only place people get bullied at people in college full grown adults can get bullied at times no one is really safe from something like
