Does being overweight make you unhealthy? Even though students may enjoy eating unhealthy snacks, schools should not serve the junk food because it leads to obesity. Obesity is linked to diverse diseases which leads to mental and physical health problems. The number of children that are becoming obese is starting to grow increasingly fast as years past. The percentage of children that are obese has more than tripled since the 1970s, says The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has reported that approximately !2.7 million of children and adolescent are obese.Even though some students do not like to eat healthy food they will not eat which will make kids not a energetic and they won't focus in class. This means the young students that are becoming obese have a greater chance of suffering from adult obesity.

These students are more likely to get held back a grade and less likely to go to college.
