School uniforms should be enforced in public schools. Uniforms were first introduced in the 16th century in England at charity schools for poor children. School uniforms have many positive effects on students. Enforcing school uniforms will fix the issue of the dress code and will get rid of the little issues that they confront with this dress code. Uniforms are a great way for students to have a good education and be more successful. School uniforms will increase student safety and decrease crime. With school uniforms students will feel safer around their classmates because if something is out of the ordinary with the uniform that means that he or she is up to something negative. There are many students that take a long time to find their clothes in the morning. Many students do not like what they are wearing or they do not find clothes in the morning. The consequence of this is that they do not go to school and they rather just stay home because they do not like what they are wearing. This problem can be solved by enforcing uniforms and that will make mornings for these students much easier. The discipline of students will also decrease because there are many students that like to argue on what they are wearing and that causes drama and bad choices. A 2010 study by researchers at the University of Houston found that the average absence rate for girls in middle and high school decreased by 7% after the introduction of uniforms. The study also found that "behavioral problems shifted towards less severe infractions." Parents love the idea of enforcing uniforms because they will be more efficient and they are also going to cause less stress on their lives. Teachers and administrators know that uniforms have a positive effect on students and the performance of their work ethics will improve .Students grades are going to increase and parents are going to be more proud of their kids. The school’s reputation will also be very good because the community knows that the student’s behavior is very good . A poll administered by the Harford County, MD school system in 2007 found that "teachers and administrators were overwhelmingly in favor" of introducing school uniforms. This poll is proof that teachers are very much in favor for students to wear school uniforms and that they approve of
