The article is a brief overview of the book, The School Uniform Movement and What It Tells Us About American Education. He mentions how school uniforms can have a negative outcome on the kids. Even though they may control some of the bullying they mess with the way some kids feel about themselves. He lists the top ten reasons of why he thinks school uniforms are a bad idea and why they should be banned. One of his reasons for uniforms to be a bad idea is because of the cost of the uniforms. Listland mentions that it may be viewed reasonable by the middle class but they one who look to public schools for free schooling may not be able to afford uniforms. I will use information from Listland’s article to show reasons why some people think that uniforms in public schools are a bad idea. It has some good information to use on one side of my argument. I will talk about the cost of uniforms and how some of the students may not be able to afford them.
