Black students in white dominated schools would be terrorized by their peers and the black students began to fight back (Bastards of the Party 2005, 15:50). White people started to leave for the suburbs, commonly termed as white flight. Leaving was an option only for white people because the loans made available from the FHA were only given to white people, African Americans were not considered suitable recipients. Furthermore, the Black Panther Party formed to assist in helping the black community, while also pursing radial legislative changes and protecting the black community, often with force when necessary. The Black Panther Party was brought into the Los Angeles area by Alprentice “Bunchy” Carter. It was a way to band together and support a larger sense of community. With the assassinations of Malcom X in 1965 and Bunchy Carter in 1969, the black community lost stabilizing pillars. The death of Bunchy Carter was attributed to the US organization, although it was orchestrated by the FBI. The US organization was a political movement that focused more on cultural aspects than the militaristic. The FBI pitted these organizations against each other with the idea that they would destroy one another, which did
