Within many schools, the use of harsh disciplinaries are set in place to control the minor infractions that the young adolescents create, but are these disciplinaries too harsh? Why yes, they are. Through these disciplines polices, these children are being labeled, victimized, and forced down a path to crime. Through improved training, and education to the school systems, this can be the solution to reducing the numbers of children entering into the criminal justice system. By providing these types of trainings, and educational workshops to teachers, and facility and staff, it can teach them to use less harsh punishment to those children who act out. The use of labeling is one of the biggest ways to create racial disparities between students. By labeling the children at such a young age, it creates a stigma that then follows them down a road to more labeling in the future. The first solution to this issue, is eliminating the use of “bad” labels and create more positive feed back to children. This will allow them to understand that their work, and themselves aren’t “bad”, but rather this is what they can do to make their work better. The second solution, is still treating children with disabilities the same as the other children. It is important to allow them to get the proper help to grant them the same opportunities as the other
