For me starting in matric my main stress must be school work. Like every other high school student. I stress about school work because I have high expectations for myself. I want to do well. I think I set standards higher than what I am capable of. So I am hard on myself and stress when I can’t get the marks I want. I am a huge procrastinator and have a short concentration span. I find it very hard to meet my deadlines. Another reason I battle to meet deadlines is because I am a perfectionist and would always want to touch up on assignments and projects, too scared to hand them in thinking that I could improve on it the next day. Find the core problem instead of feeling like everything in the world is against me. By identifying the individual stress I will be able to sort it out without making a mess of my life. I would be more organised and not feel so overwhelmed with stressors
2) Do what I love to do- if I do what I love, I would just be reducing my stress. When I feel overwhelmed. Especially when juggling school work. A break from it playing sports and getting fresh air would do me good.
3) Learn to manage my time well- if I do not leave everything for last minute I would probably be less stressed. For example I started this LO assignment on the first day we got it and drafted it over the days. In turn it was not a heavy burden and I was able to get through it without a hassle and worry. I need to make sure I meet all my deadlines. By writing everything that has to be done in my homework Diary I should find myself a lot more organised.
4) Learn to know when enough is enough. I should not take on too many things especially if I can’t handle it.
5) Talk to someone- it can help if someone is bale to help me and give me advice. Or just releasing the tension that I have. Stress can also cloud my judgment so it’s good for someone else to help me see things clearly and help me find
