I think that the school in my rural community unites the community in school spirit. Almost everyone in town shows up for sporting events and other fun activities. My community is like a close knit family and the school in the area unites us with school fun. There are activities after sporting games in celebration if we win and in mourning if we lose. A local T.V. station shows up at home games and at major sporting events to broadcast the game to everyone who would care to watch. The town is mostly centered around the school. In Lakton, the north-east would be considered a “younger community”. Both of the schools were located nearby to one another because typically, parents don’t prefer to move until their children have gone off to college. This area has a relatively higher residential density because when young people begin their own lives and look for places to live, they are less likely to look into buying detached homes over single- or double-bedroom residences like townhouses or apartments. As they save up and grow older, they will then look for houses with the white-picket fence where the grandchildren can come over and play on the tire swing. This is why the larger houses and detached homes are across town, away from the schools.…

School pride in my opinion is one of the most important values for a school to have. school pride creates a sense of unity, it causes everyone feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves. The article I chose to read is "Race, Poverty, and Community Schools." The article speaks a lot about the importance of the community’s role in public education. Therefore, I think that the author believes the purpose of education in our society is to teach our students to be good citizens, who are helpful in their community. I think the author wants our public schools to implement the tools in our students to help our community become a better place.…

A community environment serves an important function in shaping our personal development and belief system. The community an individual grows up in says a lot about that individual as a person. With strengths, comes weaknesses and every community differs in many ways. The community I grew up in may differ from the community others lived in, and that’s what makes us all unique and different from one another. No matter if you live on Grand View Drive or you live on the south side of Chicago each community has its different problems, and just because someone may live in a different neighborhood than you doesn’t mean you are complete polar opposites it just means you experience obstacles differently in your daily routine and that is completely…
