Firstly, a well-rested adolescent will be naturally less grumpy and have more energy than his/her not as well-rested counterpart. This surplus of energy can allow this individual to achieve other things in and around the school and the community. Next, the later start time will offer time for morning clubs or activities in school. Now, many of the existing morning extra-curricular programs at school such as sports teams practices simply start way too early for anyone to attend and still get good rest. A later start time will make way for new clubs to meet at a reasonable time in the morning instead of during communal lunch where many different things are going on at the same time. Finally, a better sleep will also increase a student’s performance in both co-curricular and extra-curricular clubs including but not limited to student council, OTESHA, DECA and especially sports
