Surgeon General reports that 10 percent of children and adolescents suffer from serious emotional and mental disorders that significantly affect their daily lives (Kennedy 1)." Basically, it is evident that children and adolescents do in fact struggle with emotional disorders and mental illness and it affects their everyday life. This exposes the truth with how these people obviously need help not only at home but also at school. Screening at schools could provide the help they need and perhaps moral support when they are not at home, or perhaps don 't receive any sort of guidance at all at their homes. This proof should convince schools that some students do have a mental illness. By allowing screening, students can go to peers and councilors for help and advice. A screening will then provide an opportunity and reach out to all students with kindness that they can treat their emotional troubles and problems. Students should not be able to handle these struggles alone, and their peers can look out for another and defend each other. This why no one can tell if someone is suicidal or is struggling with mental illness if they are hiding it. Nevertheless, screening can expose to upper school staff who they need to be aware of such as offering help and with moral treatment. Suicides happen because no one prevented it, and the reason why they don 't prevent it is because they never knew what the person went through. The happiest looking student in class may have severe depression and others would 've not even guessed it. Screening, however, can determine those certain students and prevent suicides and such self-harm efforts. Also, students and even families can then realized anyone can be going through depression or something far worse, or even something completely different. What will matter then will be that those students will get the help they need in school. All in all, education departments such as universities to elementary schools should allow screening for students to help others realize those who suffer don 't show obvious signs that they are ill. To conclude, I still strongly insist that schools should definitely screen students for signs of mental illness and suicidal tendencies through the instances that suicide deaths could be prevented,
