School shootings have been going on since Pontiac's Rebellion but there have been more than that one but those are one of the many that the people remember. A school shooting is when a “teen or a adult comes into a school and shoots up a school and hurts people some people count as a gun going off in a classroom” but that is not the definition. Why people do school shooting, how much they have went up, and how can prevent it from happening/ the sign of someone think about doing it. Some of the worst school shootings were Sandy Hook and Stoneman Douglas High School “. There have be 18 school shootings in 2018 so far. The first school shooting was in the 1700s. “There use to not be that much”, back in the early 2000 the number was in the 100 but there are going up a lot.There have been 18 school shooting in 2018 and it is only the fifth month of 2018. More than 187,000 people have been exposed to gun violence in school and 55 students have died in school shooting since Sandy hook. 26 students died at Sandy hook, 13 at the columbine and then 17 at Stoneman Douglas high school and that have been since 2013. If that many students have been hurt in school shooting there are gonna be more school shootings which mean that more kids will die. The Stoneman Douglas high school was the 10th mass shooting in the last 5 years. There have been more than 180 campuses that resulted in an injury or death in the U.S. since Dec. 14, 2012 People most likely to do school shooting because they are targeting one person at the school or they have been planning it .Also some people do it because they have an mental illness or that they got kicked out of the school or got bullied at the school. Like one example of a kid shooting up a school is the Stoneman douglas high school that kid did that because he got kicked out of that school and he was bullied and so he thought that was the way to take care of it but it wasn't really the best way to take care of it because he killed 14 student and killed 2
