Reflective Essay On A Learning Experience

After 18 years of being in my parents’ house, 13 years of schooling with 4 years of high school, I had to face the daunting questions of life every senior in high school has to think about. What am I going to do after I graduate? Do I want to go to college? What do I want to do with my life? How am I going get there? I came to the conclusion that Thrive School of Leadership would be a good first step for me. I would work at an internship in a church in California for a school year and that would be my first step toward my dream job of working in a church, eventually going overseas to do rehabilitation work with orphans. I was taught in classes and meeting every week then expected to put those strategies into practice. For example, one week I was encouraged to figure out ways to apply the budgeting class I had taken notes on the week before. From then on, I was included in the process of actively adjusting the budget with my leaders. In my internship, I got a lot of relevant experience in my desired career path and learned well. I was constantly given feedback and encouraged to look at the situation and see what I could do better for next time.
