Even if schools do not sell, junk food, kids just bring it from home. “Sugary drinks, fatty chips, and gooey snack cakes should be banned from U.S. schools…”(Banning Junk Food in Schools). While not permitting unhealthy foods on campus may stop it from appearing at school, it w.ill not annul it from being at home. If kids can’t eat their desired snacks at school, they will just eat even more of it at home.
If we desire to do anything at all to put a stop to child obesity, the process does not start at school, it starts at home. Parents have the largest influence in their child’s life. Children are basically mini me’s of their parents. Whatever the parent does, the child will follow as a means of gaining knowledge. To put a stop to child obesity, parents need to also be encouraged to eat healthy so that kids learn positive consumption habits. Exhibiting what negative effects obesity has on children, may possibly persuade them to better their habits, for the sake of their future generations. School can never replace the role of a guardian in a child’s life so it is important that parents and guardians teach their children good
