Is it right or wrong to serve unhealthy school lunches? It is a mistake that school lunches are served to people based on quality. Research shows that school lunches include all five food groups, dairy, vegetables, fruit, grains, and protein. However, food has been highly processed in grocery stores in recent years. Many items contain more sugar, carbohydrates, and cholesterol, which can harm children’s bodies and cause health issues. Therefore, school lunches are not healthy for children. One important reason school lunches are unhealthy is because they are fed more to trash cans than kids. According to a newspaper, “School Lunch Changes Likely to Feed Trash Can", by Borges and Crocker, “Our school programs would suffer from a lack of participation and increased food waste.” This means children get their lunch and veggies or fruit they’re required to pick up.
