Would you rather eat school lunches or home lunches? Well in my opinion you should bring lunches from home. The question “Why?” might be asked. First school lunches are way to expensive, and kids don’t eat them. Parents rights also get taken away of packing their child's lunches. Furthermore the kids buying school lunches don’t have enough time to eat. I think there should be NO more school lunches.

First school lunches are way to expensive plus kids don’t eat them. One thing that Bradley Brown said in the text Chicago school bans home lunches Ok or Outrageous? is “I couldn’t afford spending $5 a day on lunches for two kids.” One final thing that Bradly Brown said was”I don’t need them eating junk or throwing away food i was forced to pay a lot because they do not like it.” This shows that parents are getting upset that they are forced to pay so much money and their kids don’t even like

One thing that a parent said was “Parent’s should have the right to sed their own lunches even if they are not healthy, are they going to come into your house and see what you eat for dinner too.” Another thing that Bradley Brown said was” the purpose of school is to educate my kids not make their nutritional food choices for them.” Also I think parents have the right to pake their kids food because they may have allergies and they can pake stuff that they are not allergic to. This proves schools are taking away PARENT RIGHTS.

Moreover, kids buying school lunches don’t have enough time to get through the lunch line and still have time to eat. Usually the school lunch period is 20-25 minutes. Something that the text Chicago bans home lunches Ok or Outrageous? Is “ That is not enough time for ALL the kids to get their lunchs sit down and eat it.” In my opion their should be 2 or 3 lunch lines so that all kids will get their lunchs and have time to eat it. Now do you see kids DON’T have enough time to

The quality of school lunches has been a debated topic throughout this past decade. While some are advocating for healthier lunch options for students, others would prefer that lunch options stay fairly the same to offer a more diverse selection of foods. The opinion article “Healthy School Lunches Under Attack: Our View” written in 2015 by USA Today is a prime example of those in favor of healthier school lunches, and on the opposing side, “Provide Flexibility in the Lunchroom: Opposing View” written by the president of the School Nutrition Association Jean Ronnei in 2015, is an article discussing the possibility of school lunch mandates going too far. The articles provide interesting points on both sides of the argument, however, after reading both articles…

In a different article that ties right into what Finkel is saying, talks about the new regulations in school lunches. The act requires a wider range and amount of foods that are being served. Some parents have also put their opinion in on the issue and said that some children need to be presented with new food multiple times before they will even try it for the first time. Parents believe schools should continue doing what they are told and eventually the students will stop starving themselves and just eat what is given to them. Parents need to be aware of what nutritional program their child is learning in school so, they can follow up at home and help their child live a healthy and nutritious…

You would think that students would leave lunch with full stomachs and empty trays, but that is not the case anymore. The government has now imposed restrictions on school lunches that has made the food served unappetizing to many students. These restrictions require limited calories, fats, sugars and sodium while emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy and proteins. This causes there to be very limited tasty options for school cafeterias to serve. Because of this it has resulted in negative responses from students and school districts. The government should not impose restrictions on school lunches because it has resulted in less students eating lunch at school, food being wasted, and the lunches not filling students up.…

I believe that kids in Chigago schools should have the privalige to bring in their own lunch, because most kids don't even eat the food they are provided. The text states "Some of the kids don't like the food they give at our school for lunch or breakfast". I believe the parents should be able to control what kids bring in for school lunches, so if the lunch is not good enough, the parents can make the changes they want. Some kids are going hungry at the school because they refuse to eat the school lunch. The text also states "Some parents may want to pick a gluten-free meal for a child, and others may have no problem with a child enjoying a…

Children are hungry and being shamed due to their families’ low-income status is the issue that we are being faced with in “School Lunch Without Shame” by The New York Time’s Editorial Board. Something had to be done to provide our low-income children with nutritional meals. The New York City’s public-school system decided it was time to make some changes by implementing a lunch program, “making free lunch available to all of its 1.1 million students regardless of their income level,” according to the New York Times Editorial Board. Schools are forced to dispose of food, rather than feeding it to needy students.…

School lunch regulations are not helping kids. The regulations limit the number of healthy fat that is needed to have a healthy child, not letting them reach their daily amount of calories per day by having a decent amount of calories for lunch, and by forcing students with certain food borne illnesses to eat a smaller meal because of their problem. School lunch regulations have really started to uprise in the past 8 years. This is due to the fact that there has been more regulations set by the program Michelle Obama is running as she has been the first lady for the past few years. Her role in high school lunches has been to make them healthier for all kids. Even though she has been trying to make school…

School lunches are an issue that the federal government has taken note of. Last year Michelle Obama implemented a program called “Let’s Move” mandate for healthier foods in schools. In 2014, there is a mandate that all unhealthy non-nutrient meals be taking out of school as well as vending machines with sugary snacks and sugary beverages have been removed. The occasional fundraiser such as bake sales are allowed but when schools don’t comply like in the example of Houston, Texas High Schools they are fined, Huffington Post advised, ”TDA got serious and imposed fines totaling $73,000 on eight Houston high schools for illegal competitive food sales.” After many fines and reports the schools are fined even bigger. Also, “a variety of opportunities…

If you asked the workers that do eat these hot lunches, what would they say? Well that 's a mystery that Mrs. Q and anonymes teacher from "eatingrules.com" tells us about her adventure with her schools hot lunches. She comments that "they were in fact discussing, and she personally had to protest to gain even the slightest bit of deliciousness in her cafeteria." But the staff aren 't the only people at this school, no, but the students the ones that have to suffer through the bad choices of the workers are the ones who suffer. The students who don 't have a choice of bringing cold lunch to school to relieve them from the mess in the cafeteria. These students will stand in the lunch lines to get this revolting lunch that was introduced to wheat half bread and 0% milk and 95% water or some other weird thought to be healthy concoction said to be food. Though they get it doesn 't mean they eat it guys. I personally have gotten lunches that seemed to be a common everyday lunch and it was burnt and disgusting as the noodles were changed to accommodate the new restrictions on healthy in schools I throw it away as fast as I could. That 's not all some kids will do. Some go to the snack line, and wait just to get something that tastes like food not paper. Heck some kids don 't even eat lunches and let me tell you that is more unhealthy than just regular lunches and doesn 't benefit them at all when it comes to trying to stay awake and be an active member in class. No these students suffer because the adults and supposed "role models" can 't use there…

The term “school lunch,” has had a negative connotation ever since I can remember. There’s much more to school lunch than gourmet salads or mystery meat. All over the United States schools serve lunch to a variety of different students, with different backgrounds, age groups and income. Just in one school the systematic arrangement of the lunch ladies and the policies set in place are just tiny specs of a much larger picture. The fact of the matter is, as children are developing they are being programmed and prepped for the rest of their lives. Before anything else, humans need to have their basic needs met. And without the proper nutrients, a child’s ability to grow and learn is inhibited. I remember there were certain rules both the workers…
