Problems With High School Essay

School was always a challenge. I fought it for a few years. In third and fourth grade, I did not have a problem with school I just felt as though I already knew the material. I would go to school and just play around. For instance, I would go to class and throw paper around or I would just be the class, clown. In fourth grade, I made a huge ball of paper and threw it at my friend John 's head. John was pretty quiet as a kid so when I threw it at him he just sat there. Most of my disruptive behaviors was because I was bored in class. When I got bored or felt like I already knew the material I would start misbehaving. Throughout the years, I took place in many childish activities that have resulted in me as a nuisance. In ninth grade, I realized …show more content…
I knew it could not be the same thing as the previous years. My strategy for sophomore year was just to stay out of the way of administrators and not talk to anyone. With that being my game plan, I was being very successful until one day my friend Mike Tyner bet me five dollars that I could not throw a cookie across the cafeteria and hit this girl Chelsea. With five dollars on the line, I threw the cookie as hard as I can. Everything seemed to slow down and I realized what I did. The cookie landed in the middle of Chelsea 's forehead and crumbled up. Chelsea lost her mind, she acted like the cookie was a bullet. She fell to the floor and all the administrators rushed to pick her up off the floor. When they played the footage back to see who threw the cookie and saw it was me, I was suspended for two days. I feel like it was worth the five dollars. When I got home my parents made me feel like I ruined my life. After that talk, I knew the behavior was really unacceptable, it was time for a change. My junior and senior year I did not get in any major trouble. I was just focused on graduating. I felt as though my fun was over and school was a place for business like a job. All the staff and faculty members would tell me how proud they are that I matured since the years prior. Getting my diploma was what motivated me the most. My focus was to walk across the stage with my diploma and making my family proud. Once I accomplished that goal I realized that my work paid off but it was not over. The night I graduated I realized that it was time for the next journey,

Transitioning from middle school to high school is scary enough, not to mention finding out that your best friends won’t be attending that same school adds a little pressure on a pre-teen who, for the most part is really shy. When I first started high school I had a cousin who was a year older than me, she showed me around school and I ended up hanging out with her and her friends for a few months. Then she introduced me to some of her newer friends who were in the same grade as me. They were nice people and they got me through the first year of high school, but I never felt like I belonged to “their group”.…

The Concreted Declaration of the Students of Rowland High School, When in course of human events, it becomes necessary for the school to dismiss the compulsory nature of the school system, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the free and lenient station which the Laws of Nature and of the country entitle them, an adequate respect to the opinions of students demands that they should declare the causes which impel them to dislike school as a whole. We hold these truths to be pronounced: that all students are created equal, that they are given by their Creator the rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, and that they have been enduring the harsh and stressful environment of school for as long as they have. In order for…

Everyday may not be a good day but there is good in everyday. In high school there will be tough times but there will always be someone there that will help other students through it. When in high school some might have a hard time adjusting, but just know that it is okay for them to actually say something and they won’t be judged or anything. I was removing the sweat on my forehead as I felt the heat of the sun throughout my body, I still needed to cut the neighbors grass so I pulled the string from the lawn mower and started to move. As a kid, I never understood why I had to cut the lawn, wash the dishes clean my room or give maintenance to the house when we could have paid someone to do it. At the time, it felt like a punishment for something I never did. My father taught me to always work for myself and give the extra mile when it seems pointless; later in life, I had the opportunity to test myself.…

Everyone has their fair share of drinking stories and they all vary from funny, sad, or stupid. My first time drinking with friends is a good mix of all three. We can blame it all we want on being young and stupid but looking back I think of it as a good time and an opportunity to learn a lesson. Almost everyone there dealt with the repercussions of our actions and somewhat regret what we did. Deciding to drink after our junior homecoming led to us getting suspended from sports for a week, two months of counselor meetings, and a bad reputation for a while if not the rest of high school.…
