Ponyboy was really the first person I could express my opinions to and the first person I could really talk to about how I feel about this stupid social division we have to go by. Even though he doesn’t really understand how we Socs have problems too, I can see that he at least sort of understands- not completely, but just a little… Knowing that he sort of understands is a mixed feeling of relief and just a bit of an absurd feeling as well, I mean, a Soc and a greaser actually having a nice conversation.. I didn’t expect him to actually understand at all, but I also didn’t expect him to be completely ignorant about it either. “Cherry, look what’s coming,” Marcia quickly addressed. I watched the blue Mustang as it was coming down the street.…

This song strongly reminds me of Zach becasue he was always the master at pranks and finding ways to embarrass (bully) other students. The tone of the melody fits perfectly with Zach's personality becasue he is always thinking of a way to bully or pick on someone. According to pg. 14, the text states, "I did a quick scan to confirm there were no teachers looking on.... I reached up and snached a letter off.…

“Well, I hit on Andover as the first town because it seemed like a quiet and likely spot where an old, frail little lady who owned a shop would be killed. I found Mrs. Ascher when I was in that town for personal business about a few months ago, and I had noticed that she was often in her little shop alone. For letter B, I had to use slightly different tactics. By now, lonely women in shops would have been warned about a killer on the loose, so I had to change the characteristics of my next victim. I often visited tea shops and cafes, where I began to notice girls with names who began with the right letter.…

I have decided to write this journal article on an article that I found online that speaks directly to experiences that I had throughout middle school and high school. The article is titled, “The Sexism of School Dress Codes”. A young girl named Maggie Sunseri noticed that the dress codes in her school were geared more directly to girls than it was to boys. At first, Maggie rightfully saw this concept to be unfair. The rationale that the administrators gave behind this idea, however, was even more upsetting to Maggie.…

I was excited at first about the first day of school, but when I got there I was really nervous. I could not stop thinking about what if I do not make any friends? What will the other students be like? My first day of school was similar to August’s because I had never been to public school before either, and like him, I wondered what the other kids would be like.…

Ever since we started school we’ve had to deal with dress code. However, schools have different rules such as whether you have to wear uniforms or how short your skirts can be. My elementary school required us to wear uniforms and as the years went on the dress code got progressively stricter. When I moved on to high school it wasn’t much better. They would constantly send people to the office to get a change of clothes, but by doing this they also removed students from their classes, making them fall behind.…

“Dress codes given the power they entrust school authorities to regulate student identity-can, according to students, ultimately establish discriminatory standards as the norm”. (Gordon)People have started sexualising and discriminating a woman's attire, and having to cover up just so male students can go to school free of distractions. There have been several arguments against school dress codes, such as dress codes being mainly sexist against young women in schools. This does not mean there has not been instances where some young boys have been singled out, just simply stating young women are the main focus. Another issue that has been pressed is that dress codes are not sexist they are just preparing us for our future career.…
