A school counselor has several important task every day to help students they don't just change schedules. Counselors give emotional support and talk to kids who have been abused and help them emotionally any way they can, they help gather information to help students.They will get therapist, psychologist, and emotional support lines if needed to provide support for a student. If a counselor witnesses signs of abuse they have to report it or if they have any suspension, if they don't report it they risk losing their job. School counselors also help with enrolling and applying to colleges that will accept your class rank and G.P.A .They might even write you a nice recommendation.

A counselor helps all kinds of students from all different grade levels, backgrounds, cultures, races, and religions. They usually work from 8am to around 4pm, school hours may be different. They work monday through friday and have summers off and national holidays. On average they make around 54,560 a year that's nearly 26.23 a hour. A school counselor has to be very kind, caring, compassionate, and responsible in order to help students.

A master degree takes around 6 years to achieve. Most colleges grant this degree, some local ones like University of Central Missouri, University Of Missouri Kansas City, and University of Missouri all have this as a major. It isn't easy being a school counselor but no job is really easy if it's done right. School counselors help a lot of students everyday by providing support and it helps students
