School Counselor Mission Statement

School counselors create a comprehensive school counseling plan in order to support the foundation of the school counseling program. Through these efforts, school counselors can support all students’ academic, behavioral, and social and emotional needs. This plan has been designed to support the students at the hypothetical Ocean Elementary school. The plan includes the annual agreement and advisory council that reflects the school counseling program’s vision, mission, and program goals. Further, it includes the annual school counseling calendar and two weekly calendars that highlight the important topics that are addressed and the percentage of time the school counselor provides for the various services. In addition, the yearly action plan for the guidance core curriculum that addresses student achievement through process, perception, and outcome data is included. Three lesson plan samples are shared that enable students to achieve and provide opportunities for data collection. Finally, a program evaluation analysis is provided that identifies how the school counseling program provides exceptional leadership, advocacy, and collaboration that results in system change to support all students. …show more content…
