School Club Research Paper

During the first semester in my freshman year in high school, I never knew school club’s existed. All I knew was how to get to school and get as much experience as I could and return home. I did not have anybody telling me to join any school clubs or get good grades because I did not have an older brother or sister like other kids do. It was a terrible feeling of not having someone who can talk to you or inspire you to participate in school clubs but that all changed when second semester arrived. When second semester arrived, I made some friends, friends who tell me to join school clubs so my resume can look as good as a professional. One of my friends had the same name as I did, but we had our differences, he was a track and cross country runner while I was just a freshman who does not know anything at all. He started telling me to join track and I told him “sure.” The next day he got all of the required papers for me and explained me what they were for. I was nervous and I felt like I was not ready for a meet just after joining the team. Even though I was afraid to race, I showed up to the meet and was told that I was going to run a short distance and the one mile. I started the race with the short distance, it was the 100 meters. As soon as the gun was fired I ran as fast as I could but finished last. I was ashamed of myself, I wanted to quit, but I could not because I believed this sport was going to get me into a higher place. After a few minutes it was time for my next race, the mile. I started the race and by the second and third lap I was in first place, I had a feeling telling me I was going to get first place so I kept my normal pace so I can finish well.
