I’ll start off with a sample of my schooling career. I am a class away from a degree in Liberal Studies, however this is due to the fact that I have taken so many different classes in so many different directions out of curiosity as to where they can take me. However, I am now pursing a degree in Elementary Education. The decision to grow and live my life in the field of education was not an easy one because I believe instructors ultimately have a huge impact on their students lives. To be a teacher is to not only instruct the proper material, but to be there for my students when they walk into class under stress or sorrow from instances that have occurred in the home, for example. I visited several cities within Mexico for the very first time with my best friend and to do so was amazing for me. My mother’s side of the family comes from both Mexico and Spain, and to see apart of myself in the most authentic way possible was refreshing and exciting. The people of Mexico are so different in comparison to the people of the U.S. They are lively, hard working, artistic and ultimately nothing but appreciative to be who they are and to come from where they come from.
