Hello, sorry for the late reply!

I’ll start off with a sample of my schooling career. I am a class away from a degree in Liberal Studies, however this is due to the fact that I have taken so many different classes in so many different directions out of curiosity as to where they can take me. However, I am now pursing a degree in Elementary Education. The decision to grow and live my life in the field of education was not an easy one because I believe instructors ultimately have a huge impact on their students lives. To be a teacher is to not only instruct the proper material, but to be there for my students when they walk into class under stress or sorrow from instances that have occurred in the home, for example. I visited several cities within Mexico for the very first time with my best friend and to do so was amazing for me. My mother’s side of the family comes from both Mexico and Spain, and to see apart of myself in the most authentic way possible was refreshing and exciting. The people of Mexico are so different in comparison to the people of the U.S. They are lively, hard working, artistic and ultimately nothing but appreciative to be who they are and to come from where they come from. Moreover, I have traveled both to the southern and eastern states of the U.S. and my last trip was to Chicago,

Throughout my educational career I have had several great teachers. To choose my best teacher is difficult for me since each teacher was for a different course and they had a unique personality and style of teaching. I took AP Calculus I & II with him during my junior year of high school, then I took Calculus III with him in my senior fall semester. I also happened to have him as my junior and senior advisor during Connect.…

The media has a certain way of portraying; better yet, glamorizing different types of professional careers. Be it a police officer to an attorney, to what I will be discussing today, science and/or scientist. The media i.e. TV and movies, makes these careers look so appealing, which is so not what the career is really. Science and scientist are often portrayed in the media to be something in the realms of the science in Jurassic Park and scientist are usually older men in white long coats with glasses and crazy white hair like the Professor scientist in Back to the Future. As an adult I know that the media has glamorized these professions but there are so many out there that actually think that these types of movies or media are really how science works and how scientists look like.…

Most people change their career decisions multiple times before they actually pick a final job, but I never had an interest in anything other than being a teacher. I have always connected with younger kids over high school or middle school children, which is why I chose to major in Early Childhood Education. I believe that teachers have the ability not only change the world, but improve it. I want to become a teacher because seeing that light bulb go off and seeing the looks on the student’s faces when they get a problem is a great feeling. Many kids are ignored at home or even bullied at home and I want to make all those children feel wanted and to know that someone is there for them and truly does care about them.…
