Due to lack of finances to facilitate transportation to and from school many students stayed home to help their parents take care of their younger siblings, while the most adult person in the family would venture out to work. There is highly a need for implementing a school bus system to accommodate unprivileged kids and those that are unable to pay the full fee to the public transportation. What is the scientific knowledge or best practice for the program? The existing knowledge of problems it may create in the future for young adults, the best practice in that case is research on statistics on the number of children unable to attend secondary schools. Low rates of high school graduates in the community reflects the underlying problems of ease of transportation and fees .How do new programs integrate with existing programs? For example, changing the requirements for the amount a space a child is suppose to have. Allowing more children to share rooms, will keep fewer children in emergency shelters. This solution would also allow foster parents to take siblings, instead of separating them because of the lack of space. Another, solution would be increasing the stipend given to the foster parents. This would encourage foster parents because children are not cheap to take care of.…

Everyone in a school environment plays their part in ensuring that children and young people are protected from harm and every child has the right to feel and be safe in their learning environment. According to the ACLU (May 2013) the School to Prison Pipeline refers to the policies and practices that funnel our nation’s students out of classrooms and into the juvenile and justice system. The pipeline is a reflection of the the priority of incarceration over education, and starts with inadequate resources in public schools. High stakes testing, over policing, and poor zero tolerance and suspension practices all perpetuate the pipeline. Al Jazeera America (2014) writes of the disparities between African-American and Latino youth in schools. Racial minorities appear to bear the brunt of zero-tolerance policies and out-of-school suspensions.…

Another solution or technique that can be used to improve the “school-to-pipeline” challenges is to improve the way children, especially at-risk children, are disciplined in school. The concept of detention can be ameliorated. When children get in trouble in schools and are sent to detention, it is perceived with shame and humiliation. Changing the techniques used to discipline children in detention can help children learn from their mistakes rather than reinforce the image of them being “bad”. Having a class of children in detention and having them learn to use coping skills or having them speak to peer mentors to help them address their problems or work towards a solution is better than having children sit there for an hour doing nothing.…

As young children, we are asked the cliché “What do you want to be when you grow up” question. Due to high expectations, it is always answered with lawyers, doctors, surgeons, chefs etc. In our minds, at that age, we believe that it is quite simple to obtain or become a member of that profession. In order to become what we envision, we must graduate from high school and receive a certified high school diploma. Lately, the United States are dealing with teenagers dropping out of high school only to find themselves in a low-end job, and life.…

The result of this was 90 percent in Lang 's group stayed in school and graduated high school. A promising future is necessary for success in school, especially if teachers as well as students believe that success is possible (Basirico et al. 2009). Another way would be if the United States has a federal board of education instead of a board of education in every school district. This will allow parents to send their children to any school they choose to. Right now students who attend a public school in New Jersey are not able to this.…
