My first day of public education started two weeks into eighth grade in August of 2011. I was nervous not knowing what to expect. I had never been in a school building before. Continuing my family's legacy of service would be the highest honor. I have spent years preparing for and fine-tuning this dream. I have been involved with military organizations since I was 12 years old as well as varsity sports while in high school to better prepare me for the military. The beginning of high school marked another transition period. It is where I developed my aspiration of attending college before joining the military. Due to my love of math and science I have chosen engineering as a field of study. I do not just want to learn how to use technology, I want to create it. To accomplish both, my plan is to go through ROTC while in college, major in engineering, and then join the military as an officer.
Though my path was not the easiest, it helped grow me into who I am today. My homeschooling years have formed essential learning skills and instilled in me a love for education I would not have gotten otherwise. My drive to accomplish my goals has given me a plan.
