Schizophrenia Case Scenario

In this study, Tara has accepted the opportunity to facilitate a group of newly diagnosed schizophrenia patients. Tara completed her practicum and internship at this site working primarily with middle-aged adults with depression. She recognizes the lack of variety in her training but is excited to try something new. The question we are trying to answer is if it were ethical for her to accept this offer and facilitate a group addressing something she has not specifically trained in. It is not unethical for Tara to accept the offer and facilitate the group unless she refuses to gain knowledge and experience before the group starts. It is her personal responsibility to obtain CEUs and do the necessary training in order to expand her knowledge
