The Online Scavenger Hunt assignment was designed to allow teacher candidates to create an interactive S.T.E.M. activity for students. The assignment included, but was not limited to, finding three websites about a specific science topic. The Water Cycle was chosen for this particular assignment. Engaging science websites and activities were part of the requirement for this activity. Students completing the online scavenger hunt will have to create a final project consisting of all the information learned throughout the entirety of this project. The students will be graded based off of a written rubric which is included in this assignment. Lastly, this assignments contains an evaluation of each website used. This standard necessitates a positive relationship between the teacher and students. When a healthy and appropriate relationship is formed between the teacher and students, the students are more likely to achieve optimal success. This assignment was created with students in mind. It is evident this standard was met as the Online Scavenger Hunt is targeted toward students, including their interests and abilities. Standard 4b, Using Developmentally Effective Approaches, was met through this assignment. This assignment included a wide range of engaging, age appropriate activities. Second graders will greatly benefit from participating in this project. One way this standard is met is through providing opportunities for students to construct various items such as a water cycle bracelet and final project. Not only does this project align with the National Association for the Education of Young Children; it also aligns with S.T.E.M. This standard refers to the teacher candidate using own knowledge and other resources to design, implement, and evaluate meaningful, challenging curriculum that promotes comprehensive development and learning outcomes for all young children. This standard was met in this assignment as prior knowledge was used when creating the interactive web cards. Research was conducted to gain new information as well. It is evident that this online scavenger hunt was thought-out and created to incorporate information that will challenge student learning as well as developing student
