Scary Movie Research Paper

Movies have been a favorite pass time of mine, but my favorite movie genre of all time is horror. Horror movies are filled with plenty of sub-genres such as psychological to paranormal. Personally, my favorite is always going to be the slashes sub-genre, which is just a killer murdering several people. The movie that started this obsession with slasher films is the movie Scream. You've probably seen references from this movie most notably the ghost face masks everyone wears during Halloween, the ghost face mask looks like a long white mask with oval eyes and a long downwards mouth.

The movie starts off within the town in California called Woodsboro. Casey Becker receives an anonymous phone call. The stranger starts by asking her one of the most iconic quotes in the scream series "What's your favorite scary movie." Thought the phone call the killer reveals that he has Casey's boyfriend hostage. He continues questioning her on movie trivia till she gets one wrong and Ghostface killer her boyfriend. This movie then introduces the main character Sidney Prescott mourning the anniversary of her mother's murder. While waiting for her friend Sidney receives a phone call from Ghostface. She hangs up thinking it was a prank call, she is then attacked by Ghostface but manages to evade his attempts at killing her.
