The human body must maintain homeostasis for it to work properly. The integumentary and skeletal systems are two of the bodies systems that must work together to maintain homeostasis. When the body cannot maintain homeostasis, many different problems can occur. Osteoporosis is one such problem that can occur when homeostasis is no longer maintained.…
There's One story about a girl named Kechi Okwuchi that got burned bad she got burned so bad she had third degree burn. She was on a plane with 60 of her boarding classmates going home to Nigeria and the plane crashed 2 out of the 109 passengers lived and she was one of the 2 to live. She woke up five weeks later in a South African hospital with third degree burns over 65 percent of her body, she spent 7 month at the hospital fighting for her life. The hospital in Nigeria was not helping cure the burns it was just making sure she stay alive, so they contacted Shriner in Galveston so they can try to cure her burns. When Kechi got there she had more than 100 surgeries.…
To study and quantify the RPE wound healing in response to an acute or chronic wounding condition, we introduced one electrical treatment every day for ten days and measured the time for cells to regain 10% and 90% of the maximum impedance for each treatment. As illustrated in Fig. 1A, time for cells to reach 10% maximum can indicate the point where cells start to heal the wound; the period for cells to reach 10% and 90% maximum can represent the rate for cells to repair the wound. After the first treatment (an acute condition), bystander cells took average 7.7 hours to reach 10% maximum impedance and another average 12.2 hours to reach 90% maximum impedance. The duration for cells to recover gradually decreased with the daily treatment (Fig.…
In class we learned Kelley had to have several rounds of skin debridement where the doctors and nurses removed the old burned skin. Kelley suffered second and third degree burns. In class we learned about the layers of skin and about the way burns are classified. Kelley was required to wear special pressure garments called Jobst garments that put pressure on her burns to help prevent the new skin that was grafted from healing…
Although Ben starts off as an insecure teenager, after meeting Mrs.Carver, he gains confidence in who he is and realizes that there’s more to him than his scars. In the beginning of Scars by Sarah Beth Martin, it is clear that Ben’s lack of confidence affects the way he acts around people, even those he is familiar with. “Even those who saw him everyday stared”(1). Constantly being stared at because of his scars, causes Ben to feel insecure about the way that he looks and has led him to fixate on how to cover his scars. Ben doesn’t feel comfortable showing his scars in public anymore, since he knows that someone will always be staring at him.…
Discussion Reply to Our Scars Written by Rianna Crocker Most of my scars have been obtained through playing childhood games, sports, or unexpected awful encounters with vicious animals. How awful it must have been to have a scar on your face, a place that is inescapable from daily view, that reminds you of the death of your beloved friend and the grieving process that resulted in that scar. I too know what it is to lose such a precious friend at such a young age and the pain that grew inside. I must have been the tender age of four when the family cocker spaniel had a litter of puppies; two to be exact.…
Human body Today I will be talking about how the systems work together. One example is the the skeletal and the muscular system, they work together by Your bones and muscles work together through a series of impulses and signals communicated between the brain and skeletal muscles. In order to move, the nervous system then sends signals a skeletal muscle to contract. The muscular system is the mechanical force behind the digestive system. Beginning when you take a bite, your muscular system aids your digestive system.…
Topic: Understanding the Key Aspects of the Brain and the Nervous System. The entire human body activity relies on the brain function, in this first section of this report I will try to discuss the major structures, the functions as well as the major methods of studying the brain. The brain is in charge of all body functions, such as the ability to make decisions, do activities, learning and all everyday life stuff. The brain is situated in the skull protected by brain blood fluid.…
The study of anatomy and physiology. Anatomy is the scientific term for the study of the body structure and physiology is the term for the study of the function of the body’s organs. During the class, we dissected a pig. We did it to compare the human body and its organ systems with the pig body because they are similar in function. We defined each system and the organs that belong to each one.…
The brain is the most important body organ in your body nothing can function without your brain. The brain contains the way it moves, feels, and its senses of emotions, including the lungs, heart, and stomach. which is the part to the central nervous system. There are three main structures of the brain, the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain. Forbrain their are two different types of forebrain which is (diencephalon and telencephalon).…
Ray Human beings continually interact with the environment in different capacities and as a result are influenced by systems that play an important role in their overall development. The external variables in the environment, such as influences from society, culture, and the like, have a profound impact on the social, physical and emotional development of human beings. For this reason, sociologists are continually researching on external systems found in the environment and assess them based on their effect on the development of human beings. Social work according to Remear (2006), tries to achieve social development through the assessment of changes that occur in the society. The comprehension of such systems enables the social workers work…
CONCEPT 7: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF NURSING HISTORY AS PART OF GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT ASSESSMENT. This concept is taken from Block 4, Module 8 which is entitled as ‘Assessment of gastrointestinal system’. The digestive system is made up of organs that function together to transform food substances to energy and nutrients that are needed in the body.…
Anthropocentric idealism is destroying the earth; to believe humans are the most important being on the planet is ridiculous, and extremely selfish. Because of this ideal, non domestic animals are considered of lesser value, and are used for our benefit (whether it be for food, clothing, or other goods.) These animals are not afforded the rights that all living beings deserve- the right to a pain free life and the right to live. This is what vegans fight for, they fight for animal rights, and the end of animal based products to create a healthier and more humane earth. Veganism is a lifestyle that aims to avoid as much abuse and exploitation of animals as possible.…

Along with the different functions that follow while food is being digested into the body. Among the many things that the digestive system has to offer it also has it’s not so good perks like symptoms & disorders. I have chosen to research about how an infected appendix can affect anybody without a single warning. I will also discuss how it affected a very well-known solo artist and his ordeal behind his Appendicitis.…
