Scarleteen is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the health of individuals through sex and reproductive education. Their website, www.scarleteen.com, discuss many topics ranging from issues about gender, sexual health, relationships and everything else in between in order to educate young people. One subset of their website, “Condom basics: A User’s Manual,” (http://www.scarleteen.com/article/sexual_health/condom_basics_a_users_manual) not only illustrates why it’s important to use a condom but also demonstrate how to actually put a condom on. The site even showcases pictures with steps that individuals can follow to properly learn how to use a condom. On the other hand, you would think it should almost be common knowledge to use a condom because they are a great protection against pregnancy and sexual transmitted disease. However, there are many individuals throughout the world who are still not aware of this or have a hard time using a condom. This website is here to educate these individuals as well as give advice to those expert who want to brush up on their knowledge. …show more content…
The website really did go in depth and explains the process of how to properly use a condom for safer sex. Even though, it neglected to mention the other different types of condoms like finger condom, female condoms and etc. The site did help provide resource for people with low economic status to get condoms. The website reinsured individuals that they can make their own free choices and reminded the right they have to act and exert the power. Like how women can exert power by having her own condoms. Or even when a partner tries to rationalize their way out of using a condom the website reinsure individuals that they have a right to not feel pressure into do something the don’t feel safe doing like having sex with a condom because you partner
