Afterall, does one keep the doors and bonnets of their 1/18 open, when displayed on their shelves? If not, then what is the point having a 'detailed' model when detailing is not seen?

Scale models are relatively inexpensive when released but they appreciate quickly over time. Several serious collectors use that to their advantage to get more out of their investments.
