If Christianity is a teenager’s religion it affects the choices they make greatly when it comes to having sex. In Christian beliefs, everyone is supposed to abstain from sexual intercourse until they marry. In some churches, they encourage young women and men to sign a pledge and wear a ring that makes them promise to abstain from any sexual relations. The likelihood of a Christian teenage having sex is slim however, if it happens a contraceptive of any form will or might be taken in case of a pregnancy which they would want to avoid. The disadvantage although of this belief is that teenagers are likely to rebel if the religion is forced onto them. In the Islam belief, they are also strict on sex outside of a marriage. They are said to be even stricter than Christians in their beliefs’ especially this one so the possibility of a teenager contracting a STI or even having intercourse is very rare thus the use of contraception will not be used.

4. POVERTY
In poverty-stricken areas, the rate of infection can be higher than those in urban areas. In poverty areas many of the people are not aware of the existence of some STI and do not know to prevent it. Some woman would have sex willing just to get a child so that they can get government grants so they get some financial aid due to their poor conditions. Both these factors increase the rate of infection.
THE PRESENCE OF ANOTHER STI
If you already have, an STI it starts to weaken your immune system thus makes you vulnerable to get another one. Even if you have a sore, it allows another STI to get easier access. This increases the rate of infection and puts you in danger as more than one infection enters your

According to this article, “There are one hundred and twelve pregnancies for every one-thousand young women aged 15-19, resulting in 61 births, 36 abortions, and 15 miscarriages.” The reason for the schools wanting to push for abstinence programs is because according to a survey done by the Department of Health and Human Services that the decrease in teenaged pregnancies may continue. In 1995, fifty percent of women aged 15-19 engaged in sexual activity, down from fifty-five percent in 1990. Among boys, the 1995 figure was 55 percent, down from 60 percent in 1988. It is such an annoying infection to have but thankfully it can be cured with the right treatment. The diagnosis of pubic lice is difficult if you are unsure of where you obtained them from. You of course will know that you have them if you are experiencing itching like I was and look down there to find nymphs attached to the hair strand. The key to finding the louses is a good light source, like a flashlight, and using a magnifying glass so that you will be able to see them better. A nit comb will help to remove any of the eggs on the hairs or the empty shell casings.…

If they were taught comprehensive sex education, the amount of people with STDs was considerably less than the amount that were taught abstinence-only sex education. This source was reviewed by someone of the same education stature as the author, therefore, it is credible. This article has many statistics that I will use in my paper. Sonenstein, F., & Pittman, K. The birth rate among teen girls has dropped 67% since 1991, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. Although the rates have dropped, teen pregnancy still continues to be a significant problem in our society. Many young women are being robbed of their chance to continuing their education since their responsibility is to take care of their young newborn. One idea to solve this problem of teenage pregnancy is instituting Planned Parenthood in schools to provide teens with contraception. While this may decrease the number of teenage pregnancies, it may also influence students to engage in premarital sex since the means to do that safely is now available at no cost.…

Abstinence-only sexual education has been around for a while now and is focused, generally, on one of two types of messages regarding sexual activity: abstinence only or comprehensive sex education. Abstinence-only messages relay that sex should be delayed until marriage for a multitude of reasons including religion, teen pregnancy, and the spreading of sexually transmitted infections. However, there are many false claims in these programs in order to further push teenagers into accepting abstinence as a life choice. The effects of not only the programs but societies opinions on this personal choice range in various negative ways. Sexual education teachers and school administrators are eagle-eyed on what they allow in classes and criticized…
