Being a principal or instructional leader can be an extremely rewarding and challenging responsibility. The goal for all principals should be social, emotional, and academic success for every student at their campus. Principals choosing to ignore any issue have not embraced their role as leaders. Furthermore, they are not tending to student needs or accomplishing what ought to be their ultimate ambition is imperative if that leadership is to be effective.
Having a positive organizational climate and a functional Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) committee is essential. The objectives are to promote teamwork, encourage diversity and openness regarding good decision-making, and to brainstorm on resources to obtain high achievement. To encourage healthy relationships, a principal has to build trust with the staff, parents, and students. Cooperation is prominent when operating a school. That is, there are many other important personnel contributing to the functionality of a school and with the help of other specialists, coaches, and administrators makes a significant difference.

If learning is truly a priority, then they will actively engage and encourage their teachers to attend relevant training as well. Subsequently, they will check for application by monitoring and providing the support that sustains new learning. The expectations set by the leaders regarding the aforementioned strategy will impact classroom instruction and student achievement. The leaders at all levels of the system have a clear and important role in supporting those improvement efforts. In this regard, effective leaders will always find ways to improve their campus.
