According to Mass Shooting Tracker, there were 372 mass shootings in the United States in 2015 which killed 475 people and 1,870 were wounded. Approximately 13,286 people were killed and 26,819 people were injured in the United States by firearms in 2015. So many people die yearly from gunfire in the United States that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 overshadows all wars ever fought by the country (Guns). The gun violence would start decreasing if the government made a law by banning on certain guns and weapons, require more depth in background check, create laws on how to handle and store the guns, and increase the sentences for gun related offenses. Many people are affected by gun violence including the ones who have lost their loved ones. The people who have died in the past might not have been our family members or friends, but their death have left a huge impact on people.
