Military songs between Saudi Arabia and America differ in both style and the context in what they are trying to convey to the army and the enemy. Saudi Arabian and American songs are both similar in the way that they want to inspire their solders and make the Military, which is very disciplined and rudimentary, into some more than that with the creativity and culture of their nation and how it was built. Saudi Arabian songs tend to have more of an emphasis on the countries religion which is Islam; examples of this are Saudi Arabian songs like “Allahu Akbar” which means in Arabic “god is great”, you can argue that every military song will reference the Quran and god in some way. Even the Saudi Arabian national anthem references god in it. The reason there is such an emphasis on “Allah” in their songs is due to the culture of the caliphate and the effect that that had on the military. American songs on the other hand are more simple and have to do with marching into battle and are based a lot on the revolutionary war days with a marching style to them and somewhat rare references to god. Symbolism also plays a part in military tradition. The Saudi Arabian national flag is green which is the known color of Islam and has a text which reads “There is No God but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” This further implies their commitment to their religion …show more content…
ISIS has been gaining power in the middle east and still is in 2016. America, like in the gulf war, has been the key player in fighting ISIS. Saudi Arabia on the other hand, like in the gulf war, hasn’t done much of anything to combat them in any way. America has been sending in constant bombings of the area that ISIS controls of Iraq and Syria with also the funding of anti ISIS militants within the area, one of these is Kurds of Southern Turkey with ammunition and weapons from America. Saudi Arabia Has recently pledged to also fund Syrian rebel groups which resulted in little effect against ISIS. Recently Saudi Arabia has only defended themselves against ISIS with a recent ISIS terrorist linked plot within their country to attack certain facilities throughout the nation. This attempt was stopped by the Saudis.
A recent intervention was launched by Saudi Arabia to influence the Yemen ongoing civil war. This intervention consists of different Arab states but ultimately Saudi Arabia has suffered the most casualties from this ongoing war with over 400 soldier’s dead, 4 helicopters down, and 20 tanks destroyed. American involvement is very little in this with a supportive role in the coalition. America has offered arms sale and logistical and intelligence support with the Saudi Arabians.
