The first thing that catches my attention as I open the front doors in the morning are customers. Many booths are filled with children, overjoyed by the notion of eating out for breakfast, and stressed out parents overwhelmed by their children. Older couples sit with each other at the tables, sipping on black coffee as they wait for their pancake breakfasts to be served. It is simple to see how people have spent the first couple hours of the day. There are the well dressed and put together families that have just come from the church down the street, while on the other hand, there are the people that have just stepped out of bed and are still dressed in their pajamas. I cautiously approach the front doors and nudge my way through the crowd of people waiting to be seated. The smell of alcohol hangs in the air as I make my way through. Stopping just outside the crowd, I stop to compose myself. The restaurant is bustling with activity. Every table is filled. Many are pushed together in order to accommodate the large, boisterous parties of college kids. Customers are everywhere, they remind me of ants running about an anthill. Food is flying out of the kitchen, All You Can Eat Pancakes, appetizers, and shakes are dispersed among the multitude of crowded tables. The booths are scattered with people, many of which have fallen into a deep slumber, waiting to be awakened by the morning
