Saturday Deaf The dandelion rays blasted through the window panes, which woke twelve years old Sarah up, in warm delight on a Saturday morning. As her eyelids parted, the glare of rays reflecting from her eyes showed her determination to finally get off her bed, yet her body thought otherwise. She rose, sluggish, as though she was a hunched old man, and walked to the window to embrace nature. Although she still wore her morning face, she was not hesitant to stick her head out the window and greet the world. The view from her room was quite grand, as the waves can be seen crashing fiercely against the rocky coast, and -- unusually frantic -- Gannets race the winds. She eyed the waves, since she could not hear the ocean’s violent symphony -- on account of her deafness. Although bewildered, she soon noticed the warmness on her side was the blood leaking from her left side, along with 3 ribs protruding out the side of her freshly pierced skin. Her left leg, also suffering from the fall, was bruised and noticeably popped out its socket, so her efforts to stand up were futile. The ground on which she now laid quaking violently for minutes, which caused her to lose consciousness. When she woke the quakes stopped -- her eyelids opened ever so slightly, and what she saw soon after left her in awe. The town she lived in her whole life was known in ruins; rubble, and dust were all that remained. She yelled for help frantically, but it was all in vain… little did she was the only one alive after the earthquakes, not even her family survived.
