Saturday Art School Business Analysis

Whilst producing Figure 2, I discovered several key connections that I believe are significant. I think the demand for a local art club is the result of two factors. First, it was clear to me that political decisions around educational reform and the current curriculum have resulted in the decline of arts learning in schools (Neelands et al., 2015, p.44-45). Indirectly this has left a gap in the market and therefore customers (the majority of them being parents) who rate creative vocational learning have searched for out-of-school opportunities for their children. In addition, many who are cared for by social services, creative learning offers an outlet for expression including an opportunity for development and confidence building. Therefore, partnering with a university that offers a creative provision becomes beneficial not only for the participant but for the community (Arts Council, 2013, p.31). Secondly, beliefs and values have a vital role to play as many who access Saturday Art School are from families that recognise the benefits of education and are committed to seeing their children learn in creative ways. The majority want to encourage and nurture creative development in a safe environment. This established programme has built a strong reputation over the years, which stretches the university in maintaining its high quality.

The request of refunds can sometimes be ambiguous but this analysis has highlighted to me three distinctive elements.

This logically led me to conduct a SWOT analysis focusing practically on refunds as demonstrated in Block 3 Section 9.2 (The Open University, 2007, p.66). My aim here (using black and yellow hats) was to establish the impact that refunds would have both positive and negative and also identify specified concerns that could be addressed and alleviated. My analysis can be found in Figure

In this essay Christopher Elliott claims that people ought to reward the companies of the travel industry who would be considered heroes with our business, otherwise the villains will win. Christopher's argument is based on the claim of value. He gives two similar instances where travelers had serious illnesses and while Southwest gave a full refund to the customer, it took veterans groups intervening in order for the company to reluctantly refund the ticket. The CEO even made a point to say that he would personally pay for the refund to show that this refund would probably not happen again. Another example are the large amount of fees that Spirit has, though they claim that these extras are optional along with having sub-par customer service.…

My main concerns for my company would be social networking, social news, and social photo and video sharing. Social networking can mean that company data is leaked through staff gossip and it can also mean the companies reputation could be ruined by false information shared by people who are not familiar with the company. Managers need to make sure their staff is trained on the company’s privacy policy and make sure they are aware of the information they post. The false information can cause a decrease in profits because it could deter people from using our company. Social news can also harm the company’s reputation because it allows people to comment and voice their opinion about the company.…

I wanted to start out by saying that since I am not employed at this time, I will be using a company that I have worked for in the past as my example for this week's discussion question. My example is related to the Little General convenience stores, which are currently owned by Mike Cox and the Cox Oil Company. Their main headquarters are located in Union City, Tennessee and their Vice President is Barry James. Being employed by the company from 1993 to 1997, the first job title I held was as a cashier.…

The NEA’s office of Research and Analysis provides funding to support projects nationwide that investigate the value and impact of the arts. The NEA provided a fifteen thousand dollar grant to fund a three-year research project at Boise State University called “Universities: Cultural Anchors in the Intermountain West.” Amanda Ashley, assistant professor of community and regional planning and Leslie Durham, Boise State professor of theatre arts and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, are overseeing the project. Step 4: Analysis The block we chose is located on north Main Avenue between northeast 3rd Street and northeast 4th Street. We picked that block because it had a lot of traffic from shoppers, and it met the number of businesses we needed to observe in order to complete our assignment. There were a wide range of businesses that were selling food on our block, and only a couple of stores that sold products other than something you could consume. We decided that Cafe Delirium, The Hoppy Brewer, and iCandy were complementary to the rest of the shops. We chose those three stores because they all sell side items that go along well with a full meal.…

    a) The two basic divisions of property are real property and personal property. “Real property law applies to ownership to land and interests in land such as mining rights or leases. Personal property is all other types of resources that are protected under the law, another way of putting it, they are moveable resources” (Reed, 2013 p.199). Personal property can be divided into tangible and intangible resources. Tangible resources are items that you can actually touch, where intangible resources lack physical form.…

Utilitarianism (Result Theory) is a trial theory based on the act that was committed, for example rewarding or punishing based upon the results of the act. This theory determines whether or not the act brings about the greatest good consequences or the greatest punishment based on the results of one’s action (Thiroux, 2012). Restitution (Compensation Theory) is the act of somehow compensating a victim for harm or wrong done to him or her (Thiroux, 2012), For example if a government official (A Police Officer) takes the life of an innocent person without reasoning then the family of the victim should be compensated, such compensation usually is required to be made to the victim by the perpetrator of the harm or wrong (Thiroux,…

Numbers are imperative to not only describing how a firm is doing, but can also display what the firm actually does. Knowing for certain what the assets are made up of in a firm, where the debt is held, and where its equity stands are all key financial information that provide insight to managers on how the firm is performing. Moreover, understanding and dissecting the financial ratios of a company can paint a clearer picture as to what industry the corporation is involved in along with its financial statements. In this memo, assumptions are made off of critical analysis when matching certain companies with their respective industries. The three companies that I have chosen to do my analysis on are supermarket chains, computer software development,…

Higher arts education and free gallery admissions are just some of the examples of how people can recognise the importance of art and encourage it’s enjoyment but despite this it’s becoming an expense many do not benefit from. Art is still restricted to certain places and as the art world increasingly alienates those who do not fund it, it has become something people can live without. The rich support the art, display it, and pay for it, and the economy booms when they do so. While the older generation of British artist may have benefited from a more socialist attitude towards their craft the generation of YBAs and new contemporary artists fully accept the commercialisation of their work. They have reverted back to the time where only upper class controlled art.…
