Towards the middle of my satire when the Director of Admissions said something online the lines of “I mean every student participates in fundraising organizations and curing cancer these days” the sarcasticness makes it funny because we know fundraising organizations and curing cancer is definitely not everyone is capable of. Thus, it's hilarious how the Director of admissions is trying to make it sound like these extracurriculars are not fantastic. Another huge technique that I use was allusion. Allusion helps bring my pieces to reveal deep stereotypes such as when the Dean of Admissions ask if Shanique needs financial aid and the Director of admissions said “Of course, she's black after all”. It alludes to the fact that in today's world a great amount of minorities such as the African Americans can not afford to pay for college because most are not wealthy. Lastly, I made both candidates name a allusion. When one thinks about “Shanique” the name, it automatically connects to the thought of a ratchet black name. While “Betty Crocker” on the other hand alludes to the famous white women cookie and cake brand. The fact that it quickly reminds reader that “Betty Crocker” is a white women is exactly the reason why I use her name compare to other white names since it's easier for the readers to visualizes. Having names that identify themself racially, leads me to not need to completely point out
