Imagine this… a lady is sitting in a chair, just working at home. Then she hears the door creak open, so she looks up with the eye of an eagle. While doing this, searches for any unusual movement. She sees nothing, so she just thinks it’s the wind and goes back to work. All of a sudden, she sees a man in her line of vision. A man who stands 6’3” tall and 250 pounds. He is faceless, wearing a black mask that is the color of midnight. The man doesn’t notice the woman so he continues on with what he thinks is an empty house. The woman stands up and goes to the secured and locked cupboard where her 9mm pistol is held. She takes the gun. Right after, she hides. She does not want to cause harm; she simply wants to be safe in her own home. After a …show more content…
Here’s a quick analogy, if you misspell a word when writing something, is it the pencil's fault? No, it’s not, you were the person who misspelled a word. A pencil is a tool, but you are the worker. It works the same with guns. The gun isn’t the problem it’s the person. Crime is the problem, and people won’t face the fact that people do dreadful things so they blame it on the tool. They refuse to take blame for what they did. You can see that here, ”knives kill 5 times the amount that guns do,” this shows how guns aren't the issue at hand. Why don’t people try to have knives illegal then? By taking guns away you fashion it easier for the predators to harm. There is less stopping them. Also,”Medical malpractice kills over 98,000 people,” why don’t they pay for what they did. Why is a gun worse that a scalpel? The both cause harm and they both help at times, but why is a gun seen as something dangerous? Many people try to poison our eyes to the fact that guns are the problem. Well, the truth is right in front of you, and it says that guns aren't the problem people are. They are going to say that guns are dangerous and without them, there would be less crime and everything would be a great deal easier. Well actually, 200,000 were protected from sexual attacks with the help of guns. These women were protected from being violated with help from guns. Now, what is more, important than your safety as a human? I remind you that people cause the crimes, so think about that the next time you say guns are dangerous. To sum up, guns should stay legal in America, and people should be focusing on crime control, not gun

In addition, National Rifle Association (NRA) believes that violent crime has gone down due to more people legally carrying guns. On one side you have those who are for gun control as gun violence has become a serious problem in America. On the other side of the coin you have American citizens who believe strongly in their right to bear arms as it is a staple of the rights all Americans are granted. In the US, there are roughly 283 million guns in civilian hands. Although this in and of itself does not seem particularly damaging or harmful to anyone, the amount of deaths because of these guns shows otherwise. It has been reported that over 30,000 people are killed each year as a result of gun violence, ⅓ of these deaths consist of people under the age of 20.…

William S. LaPierre from “Crime is the Basic Problem, Not Guns” claims that, “America has a crime problem, not a gun problem.” Anti-gun activists believe that by taking guns away the crime rate will drop. They believe it is too dangerous for the public especially for our children. If a new gun law were to be put in place, one that would state that guns are illegal, crime would most likely not change. People would be left defenseless against criminals.…

    Why Should Guns Be Banned

    • 1051 Words

In America, there is a growing perception that guns are: they are harmful, they kill, and they commit crimes, and so most guns should be banned. But, how can a gun kill or commit crimes; it is not a living thing, it is a tool. With the use of guns, America has grown to be a strong and independent country throughout history. The push to ban guns will only keep guns away from law abiding citizens since criminals, by nature, do not follow laws and respect the gun free zones. The banning of guns in America should end.…

I on the other hand, have no doubt that guns themselves are not to blame; after all, they have no ulterior motive. The trouble resides in the people who use them for wrong doing. 1: Gun control will lower crime rates. Guns have gained a very negative reputation in our current society due to the increase in crimes. However, one cannot expect the removal of guns to solve our problems in fact it might just make them worst.…
