In today’s day and age, social media and the internet have become a huge part of daily life in schools, the workplace, and even the government. When Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf invented the internet in the 1960’s they probably never imagined people would use it to buy clothes or that our president would use it to update our country with all his personal and political views. Something that has gone from just being able to communicate to a different country in a way besides phones or letters has turned into a place where you can find almost any answer to any problem. Do you want to know what your favorite celebrity is up to? Just go on any social media platform and you can find out what they did five minutes ago. Seems a little scary right? You are ugly. No one cares. Why don't you just end it? These are all words that a cyber bully types on their keyboard and choose to send to someone else to read through their computer screen. Cyberbullying. We have all heard it before, we all know what it is, but how much do about it. It isn't as visible as physical bullying, and it is a lot harder to see it happen. A bully can send something rude and offensive over the internet and the victim can just shut their laptop and try to forget about it. Kids already are worried about going to adults about being bullied. It will be a lot harder for them to go get help when they are the only one who knows about it. If a school staff member or student has a feeling someone may be cyberbullied then they should talk to the victim about it. They should then discuss internet monitoring with the victim. By monitoring the victim's profiles they may be able to find out who the bully is and how to stop
