For Rip Van Winkle, Ivring depicted this man’s entire life in a tone of irony and exaggeration which is clear for us to notice. I personally love this writing style and satire here drawn on the escapism to mock the household affair and national big event. Nevertheless, the magical sleep brought enormous changes to Rip, and the storyline basically skips the cruel revolution part.
