Satire: Satire is the use of exaggerated humor to poke fun at people’s stupidity. Satire is often used in the context of political and social issues that society is relatively familiar with. Satire needs two factors in order to work properly. First, the target of the satire must be well known. Secondly, the audience needs to accept that the target is fit for mockery. A great example of a satire is the film Life of Brian. Everyone is familiar with the story of Jesus. Monty Python uses this to their advantage to make a mockery of the basic principles of religion, not of Jesus himself.

It was made in 1963 and its director was Don Chaffey. It tells the story of the myth of Jason’s quest to find a magical golden fleece that can perform miracles. The film itself did not have a lot of well-known actors in it. It starred Todd Armstrong as Jason, Nancy Kovack as Medea, and Gary Raymond as Acastus. Jason and the Argonauts was less famous for its story and composition, but more famous for its revolutionary special effects. Ray Harryhausen was responsible for all special effects, and was known as a visual mastermind. This scene showcases the sublime feeling these special effects can create. The development of this scene was the first of its kind. Harryhausen used an early stop motion concept when animating this scene. It helped to break down the barriers between fantasy and reality for the audience. The composition of this scene depicts the battle of man vs. God. Talos is seen battling several men from that are on the ground. However, Talos stands a few stories tall. The camerawork really embodies two different ideas of hierarchy in this scene. There are low-angle shots depicting the massive stature of Talos from a man’s point of view. Also, there are high-angle shots depicting the insignificance of man in this scene compared to Talos. These exaggerated shots help relate the audience to how the men must be feeling. In the background there is very thrilling and suspenseful music playing. This helps add to the feeling of anticipation the audience experiences. For example, if there had been calming music playing the scene would not have been nearly as
